The Informal Mathematics Collaborative Summer Professional Development Program

FREEWe invite you to attend a professional development program, open to any formal or informal educator who is interested in engaging learners with mathematics in new and creative ways. This 3-day summer workshop will be hosted in San Diego’s Balboa Park by the Informal Mathematics Collaborative, a unique partnership of art and science museums. Through hands-on activities at three different museums, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Investigate diverse mathematical topics through making, tinkering, and artistic creation
- Explore connections between mathematics and the arts
- Develop strategies for incorporating mathematics into existing offerings
- Gain insight into how museum resources can support mathematics learning
