SUMMARY:The Informal Mathematics Collaborative Summer Professional Development Program
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to attend a professional development program\, open to any formal or informal educator who is interested in engaging learners with mathematics in new and creative ways.  This 3-day summer workshop will be hosted in San Diego’s Balboa Park by the Informal Mathematics Collaborative\, a unique partnership of art and science museums.  Through hands-on activities at three different museums\, participants will have the opportunity to:\n\n\n\n\nInvestigate diverse mathematical topics through making\, tinkering\, and artistic creation\nExplore connections between mathematics and the arts\nDevelop strategies for incorporating mathematics into existing offerings\nGain insight into how museum resources can support mathematics learning\n\n\nDETAILS \nWednesday\, August 10 – Friday\, August 12\n9:00am – 4:00pm \nFACILITATING INSTITUIONS \nSan Diego State University\, Center for Research in Mathematics and Science Education (CRMSE)\nMingei International Museum\nMuseum of Photographic Arts\nReuben H.
