Sustainability Walk-About Tours

The Walk-About series expands community awareness on energy efficiency and sustainability practices, while showcasing the amazing organizations of Balboa Park. Participants can experience firsthand how HVAC is important to keep the mummies at the San Diego Museum of Man cool or how LED lighting enhances the colors in San Diego’s only Rembrandt painting on view at the Timken Museum of Art.

We are honored to have hosted a diverse group of guests including: CPUC Commissioner Carla Peterman, 2012 Sustainable Brands Conference attendees, MBA students from Johns Hopkins University, middle school teachers from around the globe, VPs and executives from Rexel, 2016 & 2017 Urban Sustainability Directors Network conference attendees, San Diego’s leading sustainability professionals and more. To date, over 600 individuals from around the world have participated!

Our Walk-About program is currently fully booked, please stay tuned for availability or sign-up for our newsletter for updates.

I really enjoyed the sustainability tour… The tour and presentations were engaging and demonstrate the substantive changes Balboa Park institutions are making in the area of sustainable operations. Clearly, the Partnership’s leadership in this area has been essential and your work on sustainability is a model for institutional collaboration.Mariah Hudson, Center for Regional Sustainability San Diego State University
