It’s More Than a Statement: Equity at Work
April 6, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
$75Equity in arts and culture is at the forefront of everyone’s mind. In fact, the Commission for Arts & Culture requested equity statements (along with evidence of practice) from OSP funded organizations in end of year reporting. With many funders prioritizing equity and diversity, it’s important for nonprofits to not only have policies in place but to create a culture that embodies equity and diversity.
Cultural equity statements represent an organization’s commitment to fostering an equitable, inclusive, and accessible environment for all people. Join the Balboa Park Learning Institute for It’s More Than a Statement: Equity at Work, an intensive workshop facilitated by Nonprofit Solutions.
This workshop will focus on the importance and history behind organizational equity statements, and how to develop a statement that both reflects and elevates your organization’s values. All nonprofits, including those funded by or seeking funds from the San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture, are invited to join this workshop to advance their knowledge around this topic and develop their own cultural equity statements.
This is a two-part workshop with two meeting dates, part 1 will be offered on Monday, November 4 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park. Part 2 will be offered on Monday, April 6, 2020 in Balboa Park, more details to come.
Registration is required and includes both workshops. Those that participate in Part 1 are automatically registered for Part 2 and expected to attend both meetings.
This event is offered by the Balboa Park Learning Institute, a program of One Park – One Team at the Balboa Park Culturel Partnership. Part 1 of the series is generously hosted by the Fleet Science Center.
Supported by the San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture.
