Position Status: Full-time (40 hours a week), Hourly, Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: Starting at $21.33 per hour

HOW THIS ROLE IMPACTS THE CULTURAL PARTNERSHIP:
The Marketing Coordinator supports the development and execution of strategies and tactics for increasing sales and awareness of Balboa Park Explorer, improving visitation to the Balboa Park Cultural District museums, experiences, and raising the brand profile of the Cultural District among target audiences. Using your experience and skills you will assist with the final review, packaging, and submission of advertising materials to vendors, collect information and updates from venues in the Cultural District, plan and execute events for Balboa Park Explorer Passholders, assist with sourcing content for social media, website, and newsletters, and collect and report analytics and data on digital campaigns.

In addition, a portion of your time will be dedicated to overseeing the Arts+Culture:San Diego social media presence – you will source and generate content for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and boost posts as needed. You will also occasionally assist with updating content on the Arts+Culture:San Diego website.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Provide administrative support to the Marketing and Communications department. In collaboration with a team, support the development of successful newsletters and marketing campaigns, messaging for materials including letters, emails, and social media. Source events and programs in the Balboa Park Cultural District to generate a parkwide event calendar. Review, package, and submit advertising materials to vendors. Receive, confirm accuracy, and consolidate all Marketing and Communications department invoices and receipts for the Director to review and approve weekly.

Support marketing strategies and elevate brand awareness. Research, review benchmarks, and support the generation of key messaging and identifying audiences to build greater awareness. Assist with content review and development for all communication channels including the Balboa Park Explorer website. Plan and execute regular on-site Explorer Engagement programs.

Provide support in data collection and reporting. Become sufficient in pulling data from the Tessitura ticketing system for reporting campaign-based sales and generating mailing lists. Track benchmarks and consolidate reports from all vendors, social media channels, and internal tracking systems.

Oversee social media channels and outreach with arts and culture lovers. Create, write, and source content to be shared on Arts+Culture: San Diego social media channels. Provide support to Balboa Park Cultural District and Balboa Park Explorer social media channels including moderation and responding to inquiries. Learn about everything the Park has to offer to share with locals and visitors.

  • Creative writing and storytelling skills used to build trust and brand awareness. 
  • Acquiring and analyzing analytics from social media and other digital environments.
