HOW THIS ROLE IMPACTS THE CULTURAL PARTNERSHIP:
The Marketing Coordinator supports the Deputy Director with the day-to-day marketing and promotional activities of the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership and its programs: Balboa Park Explorer and Balboa Park Cultural District. Using your experience and skills you will become knowledgeable about Balboa Park Explorer products, sales channels, and audience, assist with campaign execution and reporting, source and produce engaging content for earned, owned, and paid media, work with assigned vendors, and plan and execute experiences for current and potential Balboa Park Explorer Passholders. This role will focus heavily on digital marketing campaign opportunities and subsequent reporting and analysis.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Oversee digital channels and all related ads and performance reviews. Plan and execute strategic and integrated campaigns for Google Ads and Meta ad campaigns. Using copy and design from a variety of sources, produce and distribute content to be shared on Balboa Park Cultural District and Balboa Park Explorer social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and websites. Establish a plan to increase meaningful engagement on Balboa Park Explorer social media channels. Moderate and respond to inquiries on all social media channels. Review website SEO and make suggestions to increase website sales.
Collect, review, and provide insight on campaigns and associated data reports. Compile data to report campaign performance for Google Ads, Meta ads, and social media posts. Become proficient in pulling data from the Tessitura ticketing system for reporting campaign-based sales and generating mailing lists. Track benchmarks and consolidate reports from all vendors, social media channels, and internal tracking systems. Utilize data and reporting to inform marketing and communications planning.
Support marketing and communications activities. In collaboration with a team, provide ideas and educated insights on campaign briefs including identifying target audience, goals, design, and messaging. Maintain editorial calendar and deliverable spreadsheet to ensure timely campaign execution. Research and present opportunities for marketing products to new and existing audiences including in-person outreach events. Plan and facilitate Parkwide Marketing/Public Relations (MPR) meetings and attend other Balboa Park meetings, as assigned.
Assist with the facilitation of vendors in content and design development, review, and delivery. Work with vendors on assigned campaign deliverables such as copy, design, and distribution. As needed, provide direction, review, and feedback to vendors on copy and design. Follow up on post-campaign reports. Regularly review online content to ensure it is up-to-date and submit revisions to vendors as necessary.
Enhance the guest experience through on-going communications and outreach. Plan and execute regular on-site Explorer experiences. Identify outreach event opportunities to increase brand awareness and sales. Using copy and design from vendors and other resources produce digital ads for submission to vendors and use on social media and websites. Execute a variety of communications to keep audiences informed and drive sales. Ensure websites, social media channels, newsletters, and physical letters are up-to-date with relevant information and work with the Marketing Assistant to make revisions as necessary. In partnership with Directors, act as a Parkwide liaison with the City of San Diego, Parks and Recreation Department, San Diego Tourism Authority, Visit CA, and events such as December Nights.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Marketing Assistant and support additional projects related to overall marketing and communications strategy as assigned.
