The 2019 OPOT Collector’s Pin features the San Diego History Center! The dedication of the first of 21 California missions, the Mission San Diego de Alcala took place on July 16, 1769, making 2019 the 250th anniversary of San Diego and California’s history as we know it. In celebration, the History Center partnered with the San Diego Unified School District, the Mission San Diego de Alcalá, the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Don Diego Scholarship Foundation and the City of San Diego to share our storied past with San Diegans of all ages.
“The San Diego History Center tells the remarkable stories of our city’s past, present, and future. The 2019 celebration of 250 years of San Diego’s contemporary history embodies One Park – One Team by commemorating the collaborative efforts of the people, events, and developments that shaped America’s Finest City.”
