6th Annual Trustees Connected Celebration

One Park One TeamBalboa Park Cultural Partnership

The Balboa Park Cultural Partnership’s 6th Annual Trustees Connected event united more than 300 Trustees from the Park’s 29 member organizations to acknowledge the 32,400 annual hours that Park stakeholders dedicate to overseeing governance, fundraising and overall support of Balboa Park each year.

The 2019 theme The Rejuvenation of Balboa Park reflected the many exciting new projects that will contribute to the Park’s ever-changing landscape. The event featured presentations from nine member organizations to share their upcoming plans with the Park Trustees, City leaders and stakeholders in attendance; and demonstrate their dedication to enriching cultural life in San Diego. Over the last nine years, Balboa Park’s nonprofit organizations invested $80 million in capital upgrades to City assets. In the next nine years these same organizations will invest an estimated $200 million in private funds to improve Park facilities and enhance the visitor experience.

Each year it is the Cultural Partnership’s goal to facilitate collaboration and advocacy among the institutions and with the community. Our mission is to enable these organizations to achieve their full individual and collective potential, and to preserve and advance the arts, science, and cultural assets of Balboa Park and make them accessible for present and future generations.

The addition of the Comic-Con Museum brings the excitement and magic of the Comic-Con Universe to Balboa Park in a time of change and revitalization. On behalf of the Cultural Partnership, thank you to the Comic-Con Museum and the many member organizations, vendors and sponsors for their support in our annual Trustees Connected Celebration.
