October OPOT Get-Together Recap

One Park One TeamBalboa Park Cultural Partnership, One Park - One Team

This month, One Park – One Team enjoyed breakfast and a visit from the San Diego Humane Society’s Pet-Assisted Therapy (P-AT) program volunteers for a chance to “de-stress” with pets. The P-AT program provides people of all ages in care facilities the chance to experience the joys of pet ownership and corporate groups a relaxing break with visits from socialized rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and dogs. For this month’s OPOT Get-Together, Park members and volunteers hung out with the San Diego Humane Society’s wonderful volunteers and pet volunteers for a therapeutic break in the Hall of Nations. More than 40 Park team members took this opportunity to relax with coffee and bagels among fellow Park members and learn about the San Diego Humane Society’s P-AT programs.

We want to thank the San Diego Humane Society and their amazing volunteers for brightening our week with these sweet critters. One Park – One Team’s monthly Get-Togethers aim to provide Park members and volunteers a chance to reconnect and meet new team members, strengthen our internal network, and expand the Park’s reach within the community. We look forward to working with the San Diego Humane Society in the future and seeing our Park institutions get involved with their impactful programs.
