It has been a year since the Learning Institute completed its Guest Experience Initiative and began its official search for an online learning environment to enhance our offerings to Balboa Park staff. After many product demonstrations, we found our match and added an additional team member to begin production on content. Six months after being hired Balkys Robles has completed production for 24 Executive Director introduction videos along with filming a ranger-led our with Balboa Park’s very own, Ranger Kim Dulco, and designing animation for the wayfinding portion of the Balboa Park Orientation.
The concept of a Balboa Park Orientation was designed during the Guest Experience Initiative as a solution to creating the best customer experience training for Park staff. It was developed as a way to introduce new and old employees to Balboa Park in the quickest way possible while including all the great things our Park has to offer.
The Balboa Park Orientation is the first step to introducing our Park staff to a new way of learning. The Online Learning portal is designed to make learning accessible to all team members in the Park no matter your position – part-time, full-time, volunteer, trustee – and to ensure that we continue to provide an exceptional guest experience to any one that comes to the Park.
While the initial launch will be for Balboa Park employees, we hope to grow over the next year to include programs that anyone working in the arts and culture will find valuable. Included in our new online learning offerings, we look forward to developing hybrid programs that will take place both online and in-person.
Keep an eye out for the next update!
