Kelsey discovered her interest in sustainability while attending Sonoma State University and decided to dedicate herself for the long haul. She earned a BA in Environmental Studies and Planning with an emphasis in Energy Management and Design and is passionate about making a difference by educating people about energy efficiency and ways to cut energy use. As a San Diego native, she grew up coming to the museums in Balboa Park and it holds a special place in her heart. She loves being outside, gardening, cooking, hiking, the ocean, and the occasional Netflix TV show binge.
Kristen Mihalko has experience in program development, event planning and execution, and communication. As an advocate for career development and personal growth, she is an active board member of the San Diego Emerging Museum Professionals and participates in Drinking About Museums, Rising Arts Leaders, San Diego Leadership Alliance, and the San Diego Young Nonprofit Professional Network. At the Partnership, Kristen embraces new ideas and responsibilities. Over the years, she has worked on events such as Smith Leadership Symposium, Trustee Dinner, Drinks, and Discussion, Trustee Celebration, and the annual One Park – One Team BBQ. As a natural networker and relationship builder, Kristen has established herself as a leader in her field – in fact, she was a nominee for the Friends of Balboa Park Betty Peabody Emerging Young Leader in Balboa Park Award in 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa in Family Resources with a certificate in Women’s Studies and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Communications from National University.
