Timothy J. Field

Tim earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in Business in 1978 from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He also studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.  After 17 years’ experience in business, he moved to San Diego in 1995 to pursue a career in the arts.  He found himself compelled to bring his leadership and his strong range of skills in sales, management, and event coordination to the San Diego Art Institute.  He served as Vice President and Chair of Fundraising from May of 1996 and is responsible for a successful capital campaign.  He became the Executive Director in May of 1997; the position was renamed President & CEO in 2008.
